Nokia-5800-XpressMusic Mobile Reviews UK London::.
Review by: jimmy roy
I've had it for a week now and I am thrilled with it. I previously had an LG Viewty and this phone is so much easier and more responsive, as well as being much more exciting. I can't think of anything negative to say but give me a few more weeks and I'll write another review when I'm a more
Excellent battery life, a great music player (with a proper headhone socket), easy to navigate around, the touch screen works well. The only vaguely negative issues are the build quality (but I intend to get a crystal case soon) and the camera (PQ doesn't seem very good, a bit grainy and soft). But that's not enough for this not to get a 5 star review. A brilliant device, and with firmware updates and some good apps appearing in the future, this will only get better.
i finally plumped for the 5800 (after a period of 2 yrs um...ing and ar...ing over, first the LG Venus, various samsung models (pixon/soul), LG Renoir etc). I was going to get the renoir, but so many people have commented on LGs poor after sales support and lack of firmware updates. I hope you can tell from this that i dont take such things lightly - having studyed all of the above. Well, this phone blew me away! Very responsive touch screen, good tariff @ 15 p/m 100mins unlimited txt with o2, good camera with the possibility of improvement with new firmware (o2 STILL havn't adopted v20 yet Arron! - note to the ed: please could you update your review for v20 as it is said to improve the phone even further so that we can see what we are missing?), amazing music, long battery life etc. etc. I could go on. In fact, the only thing i can find wrong with it is the handwriting recognition is a bit rubbish, and the top right front of my handset cover appears to be a bit loose (even the replacement they sent me - does anyone else have this problem?). A cracking phone then - u wont be dissapointed if you buy it! Ps: the camera is similar/the same as the excellent 3.2mp camera in the 6500 slide, which is very highly rated, so you have the complete package here
It is way beyond apple, lg, samsung or sony ericcson, in terms of features, pricing and terrific usability. I upgraded from an equally solid nokia 5610, which in every respect is a damn good equiment. The switchover has given me an extra edge of latest technology like gps, touchscreen, hsdpa, an equally good camera and a better video camera with stereo. The storage space is ample for videos, pictures, games and of course music.
It has an amazing colour screen, the music player is simply fantastic, easy to use and great for on the go, and the battery life is superb. It is packed with applications and games, and with 8GB of memory, Wi-fi and BBC iPlayer it's impossible to get bored! It's impossible to complain at this phone, it has everything, and if it doesn't have something you want on it, you can download the application. It works well with media transfer and downloads, its simple and easy to use and is a pretty awesome design, the only thing I'd watch out for is the stylus (Not that good quality but does the job!) And the sreen (Easy to scratch). It's a lot better than the LG Cookie and is truly the iPhone killer! The best deal for this phone is a 15/month contract on 02, that gives you 100 minutes and 3000 texts to use per month, a bargain considering it's 249 on Pay and Go. A phone absolutley guaranteed to amaze you, you'll never get bored of it,
No missing the viewty with this marvel, it is a great phone the internet browser is fantastic, navigating around the menu and texting is all great. on the viewty lists seemed had to go down with the touch screen but its a breeze on this phone. the sales package if great and includes 8gb memory card, charger, carry case, a stand, leather handle, plectrum, 2 stylus's(one of which fits neatly into the phone. earphones, and data cable. it is so loud its amazing. i must admit in the shop when i went to buy it i nearly changed my mind as it felt plasticy opposed to the viewtys metal more expensive feel. but now i am over that, though i think nokia ought to have put a metal rim round it. the video camera is very clear and photos outside are clear, though inside they seem grainier though with a play with the settings they may improve. overall if you like candy bar touch screen phones this is the one to buy!
What a great phone. Just bought it 2 days ago. Before own it, already survey on the net. Nice features. Only the camera not so good, others all good. Another issue is during driving very hard to do text messaging. Anyway Good Work NOKIA. Anyone can recommend me whats the good version of software to upgrade. TQ
